Conveyor Belts
Our dedicated team at A-1 Mining and Equipment can provide complete conveyor systems. These customized solutions are built to last and made for the robust demands of mining environments.
Conveyors play a crucial role in the mining process. Conveyors are used to transport material across different stages of the mining cycle. Conveyors assist with crushing, washing, and drying of metals and minerals. They typically operate in very demanding conditions: dirty environments, and varying temperatures and moisture contents. We know that when a conveyor system isn’t working correctly, production and costs are impacted. Our goal is to provide customers with conveyors that are cost-effective, reliable, and efficient.
Types of Conveyors:
Overland Conveyor Systems (surface conveyors or groundline conveyors)
Overland conveyor systems are an economical and environmentally friendly way to move bulk material compared to moving the material with trucks. There are no dust clouds, no on-site emissions, and lower noise emissions. Due to challenging terrain, it is often difficult for trucks to access mine sites quickly. Overland conveyors are an efficient way to transport bulk material through rough terrain.
Underground Conveyors
Underground conveyors transport bulk material to the surface. In underground mining, the belt conveyor is the most popular used conveyor machine and can be many kilometers long. It brings materials to the surface safely and efficiently.
Underground conveyor belts operate in extremely demanding conditions. The conveyor belt needs to be flame retardant and durable to endure heavy loads and high temperatures.
Portable Transfer Conveyors (grasshopper conveyors)
Portable transfer conveyors allow you to move material from one point to the other around the site. Portable transfer conveyors are cost effective since you eliminate the cost of loaders, fuel, workers, and trucks. The conveyors are often moved around the site with a large fork truck or a front-end loader.
Stacking Conveyors
Stacking conveyors are used to stockpile materials for later use. Materials get loaded onto the stacker conveyor belt. This long movable belt transports materials from one area to another, creating a stockpile. These stockpiles are well organized to reduce double handling and minimize product damage.
Stacker conveyors adapt to different project requirements and can be customized to ensure all your operational needs are met. There are also different types of stackers according to project needs.
- Fixed stacker – fixed in place and you can only create one stockpile at a time. The fixed stacker can be moved to a new location.
- Radial stacker – can make many stockpiles and can move from right to left.
- Telescopic stacker – the stacker can extend to create taller stockpiles.
